Right here in the heart of Central PA, the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society opens our doors to animals every single day and night. It may be snowing, there may be a dangerous storm, the calendar could read “Holiday” or the Shelter sign may read “Closed.” But if an animal is in need, we open the door and reach out to help that homeless dog whose paws are bleeding, and that cat with so many flea bites she cannot sleep.

The 2013 Pints for Pets Brewfest presented by ServiceMaster Cleaning by Ryan to benefit the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society (CPHS) will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the PNG Field (formerly the Blair County Ballpark). Session 1 will be from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and Session 2 Presented by Snare & Associates from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Tickets will be $35 for Session 1 and $40 for Session 2.

Tickets for Pints for Pets will be available at the Pints for Pets official website www.pintsforpets.com, Cassidy’s Brew Zoo and Al’s Tavern in Altoona, Argonne Café in Hollidaysburg, Pletcher’s Beer Distributor in State College and at the Altoona Curve website www.Altoonacurve.com.

Last year this fundraiser made $75,000 for the Shelter!  In its five year history it has made $300,000. This year they hope to make $80,000. Over 3,000 people were in attendance last year making this Central PA’s biggest and most popular one day fundraiser.

A record 82 breweries from around the U.S.and around the world will join together this Saturday to sample their many excellent craft and import brews. Attendees get to try these, responsibly, of course.  Rick Vanevenhoven, the Brewfest Committee Chairman says, “We are adding even more breweries this year and we’re working on a great line-up of bands for entertainment.  Our unique venue, the beautiful PNG Field, has it all.  The brewfest is held on the mezzanine level of the ballpark.  Since the mezzanine is covered, we can hold this event rain or shine.  Once again, we promise a great experience for a great cause.”

“Pints for Pets at PNG Field is going to be THE place to be on Saturday May 18^th,” noted Jill Reigh, Director of Outreach and Marketing at the CPHS Shelter. “All proceeds from Pints for Pets stays right here in Central Pennsylvania to help the nearly 5,000 animals who need the CPHS each year.”

The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society (CPHS) Chili Fest event on SUNDAY, November 11, 2012 from 5 p.m.until 9 p.m.at the Bavarian Aid Society in Altoona,PA. Tickets are LIMITED AND available in advance for $10 each or $15 at the door. MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER TO ATTEND. Admission for Veterans, EMS, Fire or Police remains $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, the Thrift Shop and Cassidy’s Brew Zoo.

Additional Corporate Sponsors include Thompson Pharmacy, Kelsey Pellegrine Massage and Jenny Cakes/Clapper Photography. Many fine sponsors will be there. Don’t miss this fun event for a very worthy cause!

 Proceeds from the CPHS Chili Fest & Wings will benefit the CPHS Police Department to purchase police radios, explained Joe Varner, Humane Society Police Officer. “Our police vehicles’ radios will soon become obsolete as the local police departments transition to digital technology. Our goal from the Chili Fest & Wings is to raise the funds needed to replace our radios so we can best serve the community and the animals.” Officers Varner and Gottshall encourage you to let your taste buds speak out for their favorite chili and wings for a worthy cause.

 Chili Fest & Wings will include six celebrity judges as well as celebrity contestants from local radio and television. Trophies will be awarded to the top three chili and wing recipes, with one people’s choice award. 

 Entertainment for the evening features music provided by DJ “The Music Jar.” In true tailgate spirit, the CPHS Chili Fest & Wings also offers football on the big screen. In addition to the Chili and Wing tastings, a cash bar will be available. Raffles of gift certificates and great prizes round out your opportunities to help fund the CPHS Police while sampling great chili and wings.

 Participants for the Chili Fest include Marzoni’s, Jack’s Grubb Shack, Pizza Factory, Altoona Fire Department, Greenwood Steak House, and Jim Ott. Wing tastings will be offered by Mama Randazza’s, Jack’s Grubb Shack, Irvin’s on Main, AJ’s Front Street Deli, The Belmar and Mike Daversa.

 The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society’s Mission is to prevent animal neglect and cruelty through education and enforcement while providing a safe haven and finding forever homes for those in need.

Proceeds from the Fur Ball will benefit the 5,000 animals entrusted to the care of the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society each year. The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society receives no financial support from any government organization or national rescue society. We depend entirely on donations from our community. Starting in northern Blair County at Splinters Championship Bowling, we travel through Centre County with a stop at the Port Matilda Hotel, into Clearfield County with a rest at the Alley Poppers Restaurant along with many other enjoyable towns and countryside and ending at the Brush Mountain Sportsmens Club for dinner. This year your admission fee also includes an Auto Show so if you have a vehicle you would like to display, just register as a participant and join in the fun for the animals!

The cost is $20 per participant, and all proceeds help the homeless animals at CPHS.  Register by June 14th to guarantee T-shirt size and express registration!
