2013 Bikers for Barkers Best Yet!
The Central Pennsylvania Convention & Visitors Bureau presents the 13th annual Bikers for Barkers Motorcycle Benefit Run & Car Show on Sunday July 14, 2013 for a scenic 100-mile motorcycle run through beautiful central Pennsylvania was a roaring success! Over 600 bikers, drivers and volunteers participated in a delightful day of fun to help care for the animals at the Central PA Humane Society, making this the biggest and best Bikers for Barkers to date!
Jill Reigh, Director of Outeach & Marketing/Interim Team Manager of the Central PA Humane Society wants to extend kudos and Thank You to all who attended, the amazing, generous sponsors, municipal officials throughout the region for their support as we traversed their town, the folks at Splinters Championship Bowling and Brush Mountain Sportsmens Association and SO many others who made this the most successful Bikers for Barkers on record. Though final tallies are not yet available, registrations exceeded last year, both pre-registration and day of attendees. Reigh noted, “It took six and one half minutes for all of the motorcycles and cars to exit the parking lot at the start of the ride. That gives you a good idea of the number of participants. It was an exciting sight watching hundreds of bikes roaring and the folks smiling, having a great time. If you couldn’t make it this year, be sure to attend next year!”
Starting in northern Blair County at Splinters Championship Bowling, we traveled through Centre County with a stop at the Port Matilda Hotel, into Clearfield County with a rest at the Alley Poppers Restaurant along with many other enjoyable towns and countryside and ended at the Brush Mountain Sportsmens Club for a superb dinner catered by Jack’s Grubb Shack.
The cost of$20 per participant included collectors Tshirt, dinner, live entertainment and all proceeds help the homeless animals at CPHS.
